A HAPPY COUPLE LEK AND RON.
Still a happy couple Mauke and Henk

28 DECEMBER 2013 With Ron and Lek to the mountains to visit the Hilltribes, a people who were coming from China in the past. They are feeling happy and free in those surroundings. It is a wonderfull how they live and work there and educate their lovely children. They are growing their own food and other things. But there is one problem when it is cold in the nights, their thin clothing. We went with Lek, Ron's girlfriend to visit those Hilltribes.
Lek wanted to bring the people overthere warm clothing. So we went with the car first to the big Warorot-market near the Ping River to choose and buy warm stuff. Only we did get a little problem and that was the parking. It was so crowded outside of the market-building, no places to park and police officers were all around. The solution was to keep driving the car from street to street. Lek and me went to the market in the meantime.Oh.....what a initiative she showed.
Like a sort of a quick buddy she went throught the market and went first to a shop where u can buy special monk-clothing. She bought special warm singlets for them to protect them from coldness. After this we went outside to look for warm caps and socks.
Lek bought also sweaters to keep the Hilltribes warm. When i ask her who is paying all this, she told me that she payed with her own money. Amazing. The second problem was to find the car again. Both of us had enormous plastic bags in our hands. We were looking everywhere, but no car. Lek took her telephone and called Ron. "Where are u my dear, please pick us up there and there". In  less of five minutes Ron and Mauke were at our place. Quicly we went in the direction of the Ping-river, crossing the bridge and at the otherside from the river straight to the direction of Mae Rim. First we drove big high ways, later we took smaller local ways.
Slowly we arrived in the mountains, The woods and landscapes were so beautifull, we all wanted to live here. We stopped some where and Lek took the stearing-wheel over. She is a good driver. Many small curves we drove. Higher and higher. On a little parking we stopped. Like mountain climbers we went to the top of these mountain-aerea
. And this was the place where we did find the local  people THE HILLTRIBES. Mostly women, little girls and babies. They look very beautifull in their long dresses.
Lek spoke in the Thai-language to them and she did give them the warm clothing. It was amazing how gratefull they were.
Little smiles to Lek. Wonderfull....we all enjoyed it very much. Because it was almost 15.30 pm we all were very hungrey and thirsty.
Lek and Ron......why this?
Higher up the mountain there was a liitle restaurant. There Lek ordered delicious things to eat. Ron and Lek at one side of the table, Mauke and me at the other side. It was very cosy and warm to eat with such good friends. After this we went to a lovely place with many flowers, mostly poppies in different colours. From this poppie-garden we have an amazing view over the mountains and Hilltribe terretory. When we slowly went away from this little paradise we saw four little girls. Lek called them to
her and gave them the purple caps. She puts the warm caps on their little heads and ask them to pose for us for a picture.
Like five little stars they smiled to us ad posed.
Because of the slowly coming darkness we did leave the Hilltribes and mountains. It was such a nice day, we enjoyed it both. THANK YOU RON AND LEK.
